Toyota Prado from China, 2015-2024: What 1,944 Live Listings Say About Real Export Prices

We swept every Prado listed on China's largest dealer-to-dealer market in one day — 1,944 units, 2015 to 2024. Here is the real price curve by model year, what a clean 2.7 Standard actually costs EXW, and how the landed maths works for African importers.

Most “Prado price guides” are guesses. This one is a census.

On August 6, 2026 we pulled every Toyota Land Cruiser Prado listed on China’s largest dealer-to-dealer wholesale market — 1,944 live units, model years 2015 through 2024 — and mapped the entire price curve. If you import SUVs into West Africa, the Middle East or Central Asia, these are the numbers your supplier does not want you to have.

The price curve, by model year

Median dealer listing prices on the day of the sweep (CNY, converted at the working rate):

Model yearUnits listedMedian listingCheapest clean unit
2015107~$22,500~$13,200
2016895~$26,900~$15,300
2018530~$41,700~$21,500
2019364~$46,700~$26,300
202218~$76,200~$55,300
202430~$63,100~$48,300

Two things jump out.

First, the 2016 glut. Nearly half the national supply is 2016-model-year cars — the last big year of the J150 2.7 before Chinese buyers moved upmarket. Deep supply means negotiating room. This is the year to hunt.

Second, the 2.7 Standard is the value anchor. A 2015-2016 Prado 2.7 Standard with 80,000-110,000 km lists from roughly $13,000-$18,000 at the dealer gate. These are city-driven, service-history cars — the Chinese market grades them harshly on age, not condition, which is exactly the arbitrage an importer wants.

What that means landed

Worked example for Lagos, using a 2015 Prado 2.7 Standard, 100,000 km:

  • EXW China (inspected, export-ready): ~$14,700
  • Sea freight to Tin Can / Apapa: quoted per shipment, typically low four figures
  • Nigerian duty and clearing (buyer’s side, post-July-2026 tariff cut): your clearing agent’s number, not ours

Compare that with what foreign-used 2015 Prados are listing for on Lagos marketplaces right now — around ₦40-45 million — and the margin survives every line of the calculation. The same maths, with different duty regimes, holds for Baghdad, Erbil and Bishkek.

Why Prado from China at all?

Because the Japanese-auction route everyone defaults to prices in the global Prado premium. China’s domestic market does not export-price its used Prados — they compete against new Chinese SUVs at home, which pushes secondhand values down while condition stays high. Left-hand drive from the factory, full service records, and no salt-road rust.

How buying through UCarsea works

We are a China-based exporter, not a marketplace. When a dealer asks for a specific spec, we sweep the live market (the way we produced this data), shortlist real units, and send photos, mileage records and an independent inspection report before you commit to anything. You confirm the unit, we handle export paperwork and loading.

No catalogue spam. No deposit until you have chosen a specific car.
